Chapter 3 - The Fake Smile

A tight close-up focused entirely on Victoria.

The moment she heard Daniel’s furious voice, the toxic, arrogant bride completely disappeared. Her angry expression vanished instantly, violently replaced by a nervous, entirely fake, and toxically sweet smile.

She quickly turned away from the elderly woman and rushed toward her husband, desperately trying to grab his arm.

"Darling, there's been a massive misunderstanding," Victoria lied flawlessly, her diamond necklace sparkling under the chandeliers. "This crazy homeless woman just wandered in off the street. She was harassing the guests and trying to steal from the gift table. I was just having security escort her out to protect you!"

Daniel completely ignored her.

He didn't look at his beautiful bride. He didn't look at the massive diamond necklace he had bought her. A tight close-up captured Daniel’s face. He stared directly past Victoria, his dark eyes locked entirely on the frail, trembling elderly woman in the worn gray cardigan.

His jaw literally unhinged as the absolute, impossible reality of the situation completely hijacked his mind.

"Grandma?" Daniel whispered breathlessly, tears of pure, overwhelming shock instantly flooding his eyes.

Victoria stopped breathing. The warm golden lighting of the ballroom suddenly felt incredibly cold. She physically staggered backward, her red evening gown swishing as pure, unadulterated panic completely destroyed her mind.

👉 Daniel pushed past his bride, completely unaware of the massive, apocalyptic secret she had been hiding from him.
