Chapter 6 - The Annulment

"She remembered exactly what kind of flowers I loved," Daniel replied, staring at his grandmother with profound, overwhelming respect.
He didn't argue with the toxic monster in the red dress. He pulled his sleek, encrypted smartphone from his pocket. He didn't call his corporate lawyers to draft a quiet divorce settlement. He dialed a direct line to his private security team waiting in the lobby.
"The wedding is permanently annulled," Daniel announced flawlessly, ensuring every single guest in the background could hear his command. "Lock down all the exits. Bring the federal authorities up to the ballroom immediately. We have a massive case of medical fraud and elder abuse."
"No!" Victoria screamed hysterically, violently thrashing her arms. "You can't do this to me! We signed the marriage certificate! I am legally entitled to half of your company!"
"You aren't entitled to a single dime," Daniel whispered smoothly, a chilling, victorious smirk touching the corner of his lips. "Because the prenup you signed explicitly voids the marriage in the event of financial fraud. You just confessed to stealing her medical budget."
Victoria physically stopped breathing. The air in the opulent entryway was completely sucked out.
