Chapter 6 - The Shock
The camera could have zoomed in for an extreme close-up on Chloe’s face at that exact second.
Her transformation was cinematic. The smug, vicious arrogance melted instantly into pure, unfiltered shock. Her enormous eyes widened in sheer panic, and her jaw literally dropped open as a sharp, breathless gasp escaped her lips.
"What... what did you just say?" Chloe stammered, her voice shaking violently. "You can't do that! I'm his wife! I have the family black card!"
Right on cue, the frantic wedding planner rushed up to Chloe, holding a digital payment terminal. He was sweating profusely.
"Ma'am," the planner whispered loudly. "The bank just declined the card. For everything. The caterers, the flowers, the venue. They are demanding immediate payment of two million dollars, or they are calling the police for fraud."
Chloe’s heart stopped. She aggressively grabbed the payment terminal, swiping the heavy metal black card over and over again. Declined. Declined. Declined.

"Fix this!" Chloe screamed at the Marine, losing her mind in front of her elite guests. "Julian will have you court-martialed for this! I demand to speak to whoever authorized this freeze!"
