Chapter 8 - The Trust Fund Trap

Eleanor walked slowly across the marble floor, her silver necklace gleaming. She stopped next to the Marine, her eyes locked onto the trembling gold digger.
"Did you really think Julian built a ten-billion-dollar defense contracting firm by himself at twenty-eight?" Eleanor asked, her voice calm and devastating. "He is an employee. I am the founder. I am the CEO. And I am the sole executor of the Vance family trust."
Chloe stumbled backward. She had spent months manipulating Julian, isolating him, and convincing him to sign the proxy marriage papers while he was deployed, all so she could access his immense wealth.
"He loves me!" Chloe sobbed frantically, playing the victim. "We are legally married! I am entitled to half of his assets!"
Eleanor shook her head, a slow, cold smile touching her lips.
"Julian gave you temporary access to a subsidiary account, trusting you to treat his family with honor while he was away," Eleanor explained. "But our family trust has a strict morality and disrespect clause. The moment you screamed in my face and ordered me out of my own estate, I used my pen."
She gestured to the document in the Marine's hands.

"That signature didn't just freeze the accounts," Eleanor whispered. "It triggered an absolute asset lock. You get nothing."
👉 Chloe thought she could still cling to the marriage itself, but the Marine was about to deliver a devastating message from her "husband."
