Chapter 10 - The Christmas Miracle

The chaotic, violent energy completely evaporated from the massive study.
Arthur ordered his security team to close the doors, leaving the room perfectly quiet and warm. He turned back to Sarah, who was holding Lily tightly, tears of profound, overwhelming relief spilling down her cheeks.
She hadn't just survived a freezing night in a broken car; she had reclaimed her father's legacy and her complete independence.
"Thank you, Mr. Vance," Sarah whispered, her voice cracking with emotion. "I don't know how I will ever repay you."
Arthur walked slowly toward them. The cold, terrifying executioner completely vanished. He looked at the young mother and her beautiful daughter, and for the first time in three agonizing years, his massive, silent house finally felt like a home.
"You don't owe me a thing, Sarah," Arthur smiled gently, his dark eyes filled with genuine warmth. "But I do have a proposition for you. I need a brilliant new Director of Environmental Compliance for my company. Someone with integrity. And I have an entire wing of this house that is entirely too quiet."
Sarah gasped, covering her mouth with her trembling hands.
"You never have to sleep in the cold again," Arthur vowed, kneeling down to hand Lily a brand new, beautifully wrapped Christmas present. "You are family now."
