Chapter 9 - The Ultimate Arrest
"Arthur, please!" Richard shrieked like a feral animal, completely abandoning his tough-guy facade. Tears of panic ruined his flawless appearance. "It's a misunderstanding! She's a liar! We can still make millions together!"
"We aren't making anything," Arthur replied smoothly, walking over to his desk. He picked up the black flash drive and held it up. "My corporate attorneys spent the entire night reviewing the files inside the teddy bear. The EPA is currently excavating your illegal dumping sites."
Richard’s knees buckled. He dropped to the floor, weeping hysterically.
"I also authorized a hostile takeover of your holding company this morning," Arthur continued ruthlessly, entirely immune to the monster's tears. "I liquidated your stock, froze your offshore accounts, and transferred every single dollar you stole back into a secure trust fund under Sarah's name. You are entirely, permanently bankrupt."
"No! You can't do this to me!" Richard wailed, thrashing wildly as the federal agents forcefully hauled him to his feet.
They didn't let him negotiate. They violently slapped heavy steel handcuffs over his wrists, completely snagging the cuffs of his expensive Italian suit.
The agents dragged the screaming, humiliated developer directly out the front doors of the mansion. Because Arthur had tipped off the local news stations, cameras flashed wildly at the end of the driveway, capturing the arrogant millionaire weeping like a pathetic criminal on Christmas morning.
