Chapter 6 - The Boardroom Trap

"Printing something confidential, Marcus?"
The deep, booming voice echoed through the office, instantly paralyzing the two traitorous executives.
Daniel strolled into the room, moving with the terrifying, lethal grace of an apex predator. He wore a flawless black suit, completely ignoring the taped paper on his desk. He walked directly toward Marcus and Evelyn, who were frozen in front of the printer.
Behind Daniel stood the entire board of directors—twelve of the most powerful, ruthless financial titans in the city.
Marcus hyperventilated, frantically trying to yank the USB drive out of the printer. But it was too late. The printer had already spit out the first page of the new contract.
Daniel didn't yell. The cinematic realism of his restraint was infinitely more terrifying. He calmly reached over and pulled the freshly printed page from the tray.
He held it up for the entire board of directors to see.
"It seems my Chief Financial Officer and my lead attorney were trying to do some last-minute editing," Daniel announced smoothly, his voice echoing off the glass windows. "They altered the liability clause. They were planning to let me sign a document today that would bankrupt this company and hand our assets entirely over to our competitors."
The board members gasped in unified, paralyzing shock.
"He's lying!" Evelyn shrieked hysterically, completely losing her mind. "It's a typo! We didn't do anything!"
"A typo?" Daniel asked coldly.
He pulled a small, black remote from his pocket and pressed a button. The massive flat-screen television on the office wall instantly flickered to life.
