Chapter 2 - The Silent Betrayal

The suffocating tension in the VIP lounge was absolutely paralyzing.
Eleanor looked directly at Julian. She had raised him since he was a boy. She had paid for his Ivy League education, bought his luxury penthouse, and handed him a lucrative executive position within her massive real estate empire.
"Julian?" Eleanor prompted softly, giving him one final chance to be a man.
Julian finally looked at her, shifting uncomfortably in his navy blue coat. "It’s for the best, Grandma," he muttered, his voice lacking any backbone. "The altitude isn't good for your heart anyway. My assistant already packed your bags for the Sunny Pines assisted living center. A driver is waiting outside to take you there. You need... supervision."
Eleanor’s chest tightened, but she refused to let a single tear fall.
This wasn't just about a stolen seat on an airplane. It was a calculated, vicious coup. Julian and Chloe weren't just going on a vacation; they were actively trying to declare her medically incompetent so they could seize control of her entire billion-dollar estate.
Chloe laughed coldly, adjusting her designer trench coat. "Don't make a scene, Eleanor. Just drink your champagne and wait for your ride to the nursing home. Come on, Julian, the pilots are waiting."
The young couple turned and confidently strutted out of the lounge toward the private tarmac, leaving the matriarch behind.
