Chapter 4 - The Tarmac Rejection

Out on the windy tarmac, the massive, sleek private jet idled, its engines humming with raw power.

Chloe was practically glowing with toxic victory. She clung to Julian’s arm, laughing loudly as they approached the bottom of the aircraft's stairs. Chloe's mother was already waiting near the boarding ramp, clutching a glass of pre-flight champagne.

The Pilot, a stern man in his late forties wearing a crisp dark blue uniform and a captain's cap, stepped down the stairs and physically blocked their path.

"Excuse me," Chloe huffed, rolling her eyes behind her sunglasses. "We are ready to board. Take our coats."

The Pilot didn't move an inch. He looked at them with absolute, freezing professional detachment.

"I cannot let you board the aircraft, miss," the Pilot stated smoothly. "Your names have been removed from the manifest."

Julian frowned, stepping forward in his navy coat, trying to assert his fake dominance. "What are you talking about, Harris? I am Julian Vance. My grandmother just transferred the flight to me. Let us on the plane right now."

"I take my orders directly from the manifest, sir," the Pilot replied, crossing his arms. "And you are no longer on it. You need to step away from the aircraft immediately."

The cinematic tension on the tarmac spiked to a suffocating level.
