Chapter 5 - The Owner's Smile

"Removed?!" Chloe shrieked, her voice echoing shrilly over the roar of the jet engines. "By who?! Do you have any idea who my fiancé is? He owns this entire fleet!"

"He doesn't own a single bolt on this airplane," a cold, powerful voice echoed from above them.

Julian and Chloe physically violently flinched. They slowly looked up.

Standing at the very top of the airplane stairs, looking down at them like an apocalyptic queen, was Eleanor. Her camel coat blew elegantly in the wind. Her hands were calmly tucked into her pockets, and a triumphant, freezing smile graced her lips.

Julian’s face turned the color of wet ash. "Grandma? How did you get on the plane?"

"By a private service door, Julian," Eleanor replied softly, the sheer dominance in her voice entirely paralyzing her treacherous grandson.

"You can't do this!" Chloe screamed, her face twisting in pure, humiliating panic as the realization hit her. "My mother is waiting! We have reservations in Geneva!"

Eleanor looked down at the weeping, pathetic woman who had tried to discard her in a nursing home just ten minutes earlier.

"By who?" Eleanor repeated Chloe's earlier question, her dark eyes completely devoid of mercy. "By the owner."

Eleanor didn't say another word. She turned her back on them and stepped into the luxurious cabin.

The Pilot offered a cold nod to Julian, stepped back onto the stairs, and pressed a button. The heavy hydraulic door of the private jet slowly began to close, permanently sealing the traitors outside.

👉 Julian watched the door lock, completely unaware that losing the flight was the absolute least of his problems.
