Chapter 3 - The Authoritative Call

Eleanor’s expression went completely, chillingly still.
She didn't cry. She didn't throw her glass. The cinematic realism of her profound, unbreakable composure was far more terrifying than a violent outburst.
She slowly, deliberately placed her champagne glass onto the polished mahogany table. She stood up, smoothing the front of her camel coat, radiating the intense, titanium authority that had built a global empire from absolutely nothing.
She didn't walk toward the exit to find a driver. She walked directly to the private concierge desk at the edge of the lounge.
Eleanor pulled a sleek smartphone from her designer handbag and dialed a direct, encrypted number. The line picked up on the first ring.
"Captain Harris," Eleanor spoke, her voice cold, steady, and utterly devoid of any human mercy.
"Yes, Mrs. Vance?" the pilot responded instantly.
"I need you to make an immediate adjustment to the passenger manifest," Eleanor commanded, her dark eyes tracking Julian and Chloe as they walked arrogantly across the tarmac toward the waiting Gulfstream jet. "Remove my grandson, his fiancée, and her mother from the flight. Permanently."
"Understood, ma'am," the Captain replied without a single second of hesitation.

Eleanor ended the call. She slipped the phone back into her bag and slowly walked out the glass doors toward the outdoor tarmac. The cold wind whipped her patterned silk scarf, but she didn't shiver.
👉 Julian and Chloe were already celebrating at the bottom of the airplane stairs, entirely blind to the trap snapping shut.
