Chapter 10 - The Christmas Miracle

The next morning, the violent blizzard had passed, leaving the massive American estate covered in a blanket of pristine, glittering white snow.
The heavy, dark atmosphere of the mansion was entirely gone. Sunlight poured through the massive windows of the private study, illuminating the decorated Christmas tree and the beautiful Persian rug.
Gabriel sat in his leather armchair, wearing a comfortable sweater, sipping a cup of hot coffee. A genuine, warm smile rested on his handsome face—an expression he hadn't worn in three long years.
Sitting on the rug near the glowing tree was little Lily. She was opening a massive stack of brightly wrapped Christmas presents, squealing with pure joy as she pulled out a brand-new dollhouse. Clara sat beside her on the floor, wearing a beautiful, warm cashmere sweater, her eyes shining with absolute peace.
Victoria was gone, locked in a federal cell facing a lifetime in prison, completely abandoned by high society and stripped of everything she had ever stolen.
Gabriel watched Clara and Lily laugh together. He realized that in his darkest moment, an innocent child had walked past his guards and handed him the key to his freedom. He had lost his brother, but he had found something else in the ashes of his grief—a real family to protect.

As Lily ran over to hand Gabriel a new drawing she had made for him, the feared syndicate boss knew this was the greatest Christmas he would ever have.
Do you think Gabriel should have handed Victoria over to the cartel instead of the police, or was federal prison the ultimate punishment for the wicked fiancée?
