Chapter 4 - The Interrogation

An extreme, cinematic close-up focused tightly on Luca’s face.

The fierce, untouchable mafia king was completely, utterly paralyzed by the sight of his mother's tears. His eyes narrowed with suppressed, highly calculated fury.

He had just returned from a two-month international "business trip" to secure a massive supply chain. He had left his mother in the care of his fiancée and his younger brother, Michael, expecting her to be treated like absolute royalty in the master wing of the mansion.

"Mom," Luca whispered softly, gently placing his tattooed hand over her trembling fingers. "What do you mean you don't have a bed anymore?"

Teresa couldn't speak. She just squeezed her eyes shut, sobbing quietly into the pale-blue blanket, deeply ashamed that her son was seeing her like this.

Luca slowly stood back up. He didn't look at Vanessa. He looked directly at the brave young maid who had just risked her job to protect his mother.

"Hannah," Luca commanded, his voice steady but radiating intense, dangerous authority. "Where has my mother been sleeping?"

Vanessa completely panicked. "Luca, don't listen to the help! She's lying!"

Hannah didn't flinch. She looked dead into the eyes of the most terrifying man in Chicago.

"In the small sitting room upstairs, sir," Hannah whispered, her voice trembling slightly, but completely honest. "Her room was cleared out."
