Chapter 3 - The Ivory Gown

At the far end of the luxurious, glowing corridor, standing perfectly still beneath the final crystal chandelier, was Damiano’s fiancée, Victoria.

The elegant blonde woman in her thirties looked like a flawless, high-society mannequin. She was wearing a sleek, expensive ivory evening gown that clung to her figure, her blonde hair cascading perfectly over her shoulders. But her beautiful face was twisted into a mask of cold, desperate, and unhinged menace.

There was absolutely no dialogue. Just the tense, suffocating, cinematic silence of the corridor stretching between them.

Damiano’s realistic facial micro-expressions shifted rapidly. He stared at the woman he was supposed to marry in three weeks. For the past month, his forensic accountants had been uncovering massive, multi-million-dollar discrepancies in the syndicate’s offshore accounts. He had been quietly investigating his own inner circle, preparing to confront the traitor tonight inside his office.

He didn't need to read the financial files anymore. The traitor was standing right in front of him in an ivory gown.

But it wasn't the look of hatred in Victoria’s eyes that made Damiano’s heart completely stop. It was what she was holding in her perfectly manicured hand.
