Chapter 10 - The New Crown

In the months that followed, Beverly was convicted and sentenced to federal prison. The stolen millions were completely recovered and legally returned to the children's hospital. Audrey’s husband, absolutely disgusted by his mother's true colors, completely cut all contact with her.

Audrey immediately took Chloe to a professional, high-end salon. They didn't try to hide the chopped hair. They transformed it into a beautiful, stylish, and incredibly fierce pixie cut that Chloe absolutely loved.

A year later, the modern American living room was bathed in bright, beautiful morning sunlight.

Audrey stood by the stone fireplace, wearing a relaxed, elegant sweater. She smiled warmly, radiating absolute health, power, and undeniable peace.

She wasn't isolated, and she wasn't alone.

Running happily across the hardwood floor was Chloe. She was a vibrant, laughing ten-year-old girl, wearing a beautiful purple dress. Her hair had grown out into a stunning, healthy bob, adorned with a sparkling silver headband.

Chloe laughed, holding up a gold trophy she had just won at a local science fair, completely confident and entirely fearless.

Audrey smiled, her heart swelling with an overwhelming, unshakeable peace. The nightmare was completely over, proving that true beauty isn't found in long hair or high-society appearances—it is found in the brilliant, fierce courage of a mother who completely refuses to let anyone break her child's spirit.

Do you think getting arrested for fraud was enough justice for Beverly, or did the cruel grandmother deserve a harsher punishment for assaulting the little girl?
