Chapter 3 - The Waiter's Intervention

The heavy, toxic laughter echoing across the crystal-lit ballroom was suddenly, violently interrupted.

A medium shot captured the exact moment the atmosphere in the room completely shifted. Sam, a thirty-year-old man with dark brown hair, stepped firmly into the main aisle. He didn't look like a billionaire. He wore a simple white button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his forearms, a sharp black vest, a black bowtie, and a standard-issue brass name tag.

He was carrying a heavy silver tray of champagne glasses, looking like a tired, overworked hotel waiter.

But his natural micro-expressions didn't project submissiveness or fear. He walked with a heavy, terrifying, and completely undeniable authority.

Sam marched directly into the center of the dance floor, aggressively stepping right between the paralyzed heiress and the laughing, arrogant bully. He didn't flinch. He didn't apologize for interrupting the wealthy elite. He locked his dark, piercing eyes entirely on Tyler, completely blocking his path to Audrey.

"You're blocking the aisle," Sam stated firmly, his deep voice carrying a freezing, lethal calm that cut straight through the remaining laughter in the room.

Tyler stopped laughing. His jaw literally unhinged in sheer, unadulterated shock. An employee, a minimum-wage servant, had just publicly reprimanded him in front of Chicago's highest society.

👉 Tyler’s face violently flushed with rage, entirely unaware that he had just picked a fight with the devil himself.
