Chapter 7 - The Manager's Terror

"Finally!" Tyler yelled, aggressively pointing at Sam, who had gently stopped spinning Audrey's wheelchair. "Throw this filthy peasant out of the building! He disrespected me!"
The general manager, a sophisticated man in a tailored suit, was hyperventilating. He sprinted across the marble floor, his eyes completely wide with sheer, apocalyptic panic.
But the manager didn't look at Tyler. He didn't grab the waiter.
The manager stopped three feet away from Sam, completely ignoring the screaming millionaire. The manager violently dropped his head, bowing in absolute, unadulterated submission.
"Mr. Sterling," the manager stammered breathlessly, his voice trembling with sheer terror. "I am so incredibly sorry for this disruption. The security team is entirely at your disposal."
Tyler’s jaw literally unhinged. The arrogant smirk completely vanished from his face, violently replaced by a mask of sheer, paralyzing confusion.
"Mr. Sterling?" Tyler choked out, physically staggering backward in his expensive tuxedo.
To understand the absolute, bone-chilling horror currently freezing the blood in Tyler's veins, one had to know who owned the city. "Sterling Holdings" was the most massive, ruthless, and terrifying private equity firm in Chicago. They owned the banks, they owned the real estate, and they owned this exact luxury hotel.
Sam slowly turned around, letting go of Audrey's hand.
