Chapter 1 - The Cruel Winter Night

The opulent exterior of the Manhattan luxury hotel was a breathtaking, cinematic display of untouchable wealth. Warm, glowing golden light spilled through the massive revolving glass doors, perfectly illuminating the heavy winter snowfall. But directly outside, resting against the freezing polished stone wall, the pristine elegance was interrupted by absolute desperation.

Gabriel, a man in a heavily worn, torn dark-brown winter jacket, sat shivering on the icy pavement. His thick, dark wavy hair was messy and damp from the relentless snow. He looked completely exhausted, his damaged black boots buried in the slush.

Suddenly, the heavy glass doors spun open. Vanessa, a wealthy blonde woman wearing an extravagant full-length red satin evening gown and an oversized, luxurious white fur coat, marched out. She looked at the freezing man with pure, unfiltered disgust. Without breaking her stride, Vanessa viciously kicked his paper cup, scattering his few meager coins across the icy snow.

Before Gabriel could even react, a woman rushed out of the crowd.

Beatrice, a beautiful twenty-six-year-old woman wearing a modest powder-blue wool coat, immediately dropped to her knees in the freezing slush. Her naturally flushed, rosy cheeks were wet with melting snow as she scrambled to gather the scattered coins. She didn't look at him with pity; she looked at him with profound, heartbreaking empathy.

👉 Beatrice reached into her beige leather handbag, entirely unaware that her next action would completely rewrite her destiny.
