Chapter 10 - The Truth That Set Her Free

The chaotic, toxic energy was entirely dragged out of the grand ballroom.

Vanessa screamed and cried in total, undeniable disgrace as the heavy steel handcuffs snapped around her wrists, completely ruining her white fur coat. She and her father were forcefully hauled out into the freezing snow. Without their stolen wealth, they became entirely invisible, destined to rot in federal prison for the rest of their natural lives.

The heavy doors slammed shut, plunging the beautiful ballroom back into a profound, heavy peace.

Gabriel turned back to Beatrice. The cold, terrifying mafia king completely vanished. He looked at the beautiful, gentle woman in the midnight-blue gown, his gray eyes radiating profound, overwhelming respect and unconditional adoration.

"Your father's empire has been entirely restored to your name, Beatrice," Gabriel said softly, gently taking her trembling hand. "But the ring isn't a payment. It's a question."

Beatrice didn't cry from sadness; she wept tears of pure, overwhelming joy. The crushing weight of the last ten years was completely, permanently lifted from her shoulders. She looked at the incredibly powerful man who had just burned her enemies to the ground solely to protect her heart.

With a bright, beautiful smile, she allowed him to slide the massive sapphire ring onto her finger, completely safe in the brilliant future they were about to build together.
