Chapter 6 - The Ultimate Eviction

"No!" Delaney wailed hysterically, dropping to her knees on the marble floor, her expensive red sequined gown completely ruined by the scattered silver beads.
"Nolan, wait! You can't do this!" Delaney's father screamed through the speakerphone before Nolan ruthlessly ended the call.
The cinematic realism of the absolute, crushing financial slaughter hit the ballroom with the force of a freight train. In less than sixty seconds, Nolan had completely destroyed the two most toxic, arrogant families in the room without even raising his voice.
"Security," Nolan commanded, not even looking at the weeping girl on the floor.
Instantly, four massive, heavily armed private security guards marched into the ballroom. They bypassed the wealthy guests and walked straight up to Delaney and Dennis.
"This estate is now officially the property of Sterling Holdings," Nolan stated smoothly, buttoning the cuffs of his white shirt. "Throw them out. Both of them. If they resist, have them arrested for trespassing."
"River, please!" Dennis begged, desperately reaching out toward his daughter as a massive guard violently grabbed his tuxedo jacket. "Tell him to stop! I'm your father!"
River didn't flinch. She pulled Nolan’s warm suit jacket tighter around her shoulders. She looked at the cowardly man who had begged her to smile through her own assault.
"I don't have a father," River replied quietly, her voice ringing with absolute, undeniable strength.
