Chapter 2 - The Fatal Mistake

The cinematic tension in the elegant dining room spiked to an absolute, suffocating peak.

The Manager, a thirty-something man with short dark hair, nervously adjusted his black vest and white dress shirt over his black bowtie. He was clearly, visibly intimidated by Julian’s overwhelming, authoritative aura.

"Your mother was asked to leave, sir," the Manager stammered, his formal tone trembling with fear.

A tight, extreme close-up captured Julian’s face. His dark eyes narrowed into lethal slits. The genuine concern for his mother evaporated in a microsecond, violently replaced by a dangerous, suppressed, and apocalyptic anger.

"You asked my mother to leave?" Julian repeated, his voice cold, quiet, and terrifyingly threatening.

Before the Manager could backtrack, Eleanor looked up at her towering son. Tears streamed relentlessly down her wrinkled cheeks. She clung even tighter to Lucy’s hands, pulling the young, crying waitress closer for comfort.

"Lucy was the only one who helped me," Eleanor sobbed, her voice overflowing with profound gratitude.

Julian slowly turned his intense gaze to Lucy. He focused on her tear-streaked face as she cried silently on her knees. Then, he looked back at his mother with absolute, unbreakable resolve. A subtle, powerful emotional pause hung over the crystal chandeliers.
