Chapter 1 - The Rainy Interrogation

The upscale restaurant was a cinematic masterpiece of warm, golden lighting and absolute exclusivity. Outside the large, heavy glass windows, a cold, violent rainstorm pounded against the city streets, making the cozy interior feel even more untouchable to the common public.
Daniel, a ruggedly handsome man in his thirties wearing a significantly worn, dark canvas jacket, sat quietly in a plush red leather booth. Sitting right beside him was his eight-year-old daughter, Sophie. She was a sweet, innocent girl wearing a simple, slightly faded pink sweater, happily coloring on the paper menu.
But the peaceful father-daughter dinner was about to be violently interrupted.
Vanessa, the thirty-something restaurant manager, marched aggressively up to the red leather booth. She wore a sharp, highly tailored black designer suit, her blonde hair pulled into a flawless updo. She looked down at the rugged father and the little girl with pure, unfiltered disgust.
"I'm asking you to leave," Vanessa commanded coldly, loudly tapping her manicured finger against the polished wooden table to ensure the wealthy guests nearby noticed the commotion.
A tight close-up captured Sophie looking up at her dad, her big eyes suddenly welling with terrified tears.

"Did we do something wrong, Daddy?" Sophie whispered, shrinking back into the red leather booth.
👉 Daniel put his arm around his daughter, completely unaware that the manager was about to cross an unforgivable line.
