Chapter 4 - The Silent Call

"Oh, please," Vanessa sneered aggressively, assuming he was bluffing. "Who are you calling? The Better Business Bureau? Go right ahead. I practically own this city's culinary scene."
Daniel didn't answer her. He typed a highly specific, six-digit override code into the encrypted phone. He didn't dial a number. He simply pressed a single green button and placed the heavy phone silently on the polished wooden table.
"You have exactly two minutes to bring us a birthday cake," Daniel commanded flawlessly, his dark eyes locking onto the arrogant manager. "Or you won't have a job by the time the rain stops."
Vanessa let out a harsh, cruel laugh that echoed across the dead-silent dining room.
"Security!" Vanessa shrieked loudly, violently pointing her manicured finger at the red leather booth. "Remove this delusional vagrant and his filthy child immediately!"
Three massive, heavily muscled security guards in matching black suits immediately sprinted across the restaurant. They completely bypassed the shocked, wealthy guests and marched directly up to the rugged father. The lead guard reached out, aggressively grabbing Daniel by the shoulder to violently yank him out of the booth.

But before the guard could even pull him, the heavy encrypted phone resting on the table suddenly buzzed.
👉 The voice that echoed through the speaker was about to drop a nuclear bomb on the restaurant manager.
