Emily utilized the deep intelligence network she had quietly cultivated decades ago. It took forty-eight agonizing hours to discover that Vance frequently visited an isolated, off-the-grid villa located deep in the woods.
"He hides his financial ledgers and extortion recordings there," her intelligence chief analyzed, pointing to the satellite map projected on the large screen. "But this villa uses a closed-circuit security system. It cannot be hacked remotely. We must break in directly."
Emily stared at the screen. Breaking into a senator's fortified house carried massive legal risks. If caught, her entire philanthropic empire would collapse instantly, and she would face decades in federal prison.
