To defeat a powerful federal senator, Emily needed undeniable physical evidence. Remote hacking could not completely help them, because Sterling was an old-generation politician. He kept his dirtiest secrets locked in a physical, guarded safe.
Emily utilized the deep intelligence network Dante had quietly cultivated decades ago. It took forty-eight agonizing hours to discover that Sterling frequently visited an isolated, off-the-grid villa located deep in the woods.
"He hides his financial ledgers and extortion recordings there," Dante analyzed, pointing to the satellite map projected on the large screen. "But this villa uses a closed-circuit security system. It cannot be hacked remotely. We must break in directly."
Emily stared at the screen. Breaking into a senator's fortified house carried massive risks. If caught, her philanthropic empire would collapse instantly, and she would face decades in prison.
