Chapter 8 - The Arrest of the Mistress

As the agents dragged Sebastian away, Victoria tried to quietly slip out of the venue, desperately pulling her plunging red silk gown tight around her body, hoping she would be forgotten in the chaos.

But a stern female federal agent stepped directly into her path.

"Victoria Sterling," the agent stated coldly, aggressively grabbing the woman's wrist. "You are under arrest as a co-conspirator in federal wire fraud and money laundering."

"No! Get your hands off me!" Victoria shrieked hysterically, completely losing her mind. "I didn't know the money was stolen! I am a victim! He tricked me! I didn't do anything wrong!"

"Tell it to the federal judge," the agent replied, slapping heavy steel cuffs on her wrists.

Victoria wept pathetically, her flawless blonde hair becoming a messy, frantic tangle as they dragged her away. She looked back at Elizabeth with pure, unadulterated venom.

"You ruined my life!" Victoria screamed.

"You ruined your own life when you decided to be a parasite," Elizabeth replied quietly, entirely unbothered by the woman's screaming.

The elite guests, completely disgusted by the explosive federal crimes they had just witnessed, quietly gathered their belongings and filtered out of the penthouse. They wanted absolutely nothing to do with the toxic, ruined groom or his pathetic mistress.

The luxurious wedding venue fell into a profound, heavy, and incredibly peaceful silence.
