Chapter 5 - The Corporate Guillotine

The wealthy wedding guests watched in absolute, stunned silence as the drama unfolded at the head table.
Evelyn calmly unclasped her delicate silver clutch. She pulled out a single, thick, legally notarized document stamped with a red corporate seal. She dropped it directly onto the pristine white tablecloth.
"Daniel was the CEO," Evelyn corrected coldly. "Until 9:00 AM this morning."
Daniel’s jaw literally unhinged. The blood violently drained from his face as he stared at the legal document.
"Mom... what is this?" Daniel choked out, his voice cracking into a high-pitched, pathetic squeal of pure terror.
"It’s a corporate termination notice," Evelyn stated, entirely devoid of human mercy. "My private investigators spent the last six months digging into Claire’s background. I found the hidden bankruptcies. I found the emails she sent her mother, explicitly detailing her plan to hijack this family’s wealth the moment the marriage certificate was signed."
Claire gasped, physically backing away from the table as if it were suddenly on fire.
"I brought the evidence to the corporate board of directors this morning," Evelyn continued ruthlessly. "When I showed them that you had illegally transferred three hundred thousand dollars of company funds to pay off Claire’s credit card debt last month, they immediately voted to terminate you, Daniel. You are officially unemployed."
Daniel dropped to his knees on the polished hardwood floor, completely humiliating himself in front of the entire Beverly Hills high society.
