Chapter 5 - The Ultimate Betrayal

David stared at the papers inside the manila folder, his blood turning to absolute ice.

They weren't romantic notes. They were complex, legally binding financial transfer documents.

David owned a highly successful, multi-million-dollar software development company. Richard’s corporate firm was his largest investor. For the last six months, Amber had been secretly using her access to David's private home office to steal his digital signatures and internal banking codes.

The documents proved that Amber and Richard were systematically draining David's corporate accounts, funneling millions of dollars into untouchable offshore shell companies.

They weren't just having an affair in his bed. They were meticulously plotting to completely bankrupt him.

David’s hands shook with apocalyptic fury. He picked up the black burner phone. It wasn't locked.

He opened the messaging app. There was only one contact saved: R.

David read the most recent messages, sent just two days ago.

Richard: The final transfer clears on Monday. Once his company defaults, I’ll trigger the foreclosure on the house. Amber: I can't wait. I’m filing for full custody of Noah as soon as he’s broke. He won't be able to afford a lawyer to fight us.
