Chapter 9 - The Arrest
Amber sprinted toward the glass boardroom doors, desperate to escape the nightmare she had created.
She pulled the handles, but the doors swung inward before she could open them.
Standing in the hallway were six heavily armed federal agents and two local police detectives. They marched into the boardroom with their weapons drawn, completely trapping the cheating billionaires.
David calmly handed the lead agent the burner phone and the forged financial documents.
“Richard Vance and Amber Vance,” the federal agent announced, his voice booming with undeniable authority. “You are under arrest for conspiracy to commit corporate espionage, massive wire fraud, and grand larceny.”
“No! Please!” Amber wailed hysterically, dropping to her knees on the boardroom floor. She reached her hands out toward David. “David, I’m your wife! Think of Noah! You can't do this to me!”
“I am thinking of Noah,” David replied quietly, his dark eyes devoid of any mercy.
The federal agents didn't let her argue. They violently hauled Amber and Richard to their feet. They slammed heavy steel handcuffs onto their wrists, completely ignoring their pathetic, humiliating screams.
They dragged the wealthy traitors out of the boardroom, parading them through the crowded corporate lobby in front of hundreds of shocked employees. Their high-society reputations, their freedom, and their arrogant lives were permanently, entirely swallowed into violent ruin.

David stood perfectly still in the boardroom, watching them disappear into the elevator. The monsters were finally gone.
