Chapter 7 - The Boardroom Meeting
Monday morning arrived. The day Richard and Amber planned to execute their final, devastating financial transfer.
At 10:00 AM, Richard was sitting confidently at the head of a massive mahogany table inside his corporate boardroom. Amber was sitting right next to him, pretending to be there on "consulting" business. They were sipping expensive coffee, smiling at each other as Richard prepared to press the final button on his laptop to ruin David forever.
Suddenly, the heavy glass doors of the boardroom swung open.
David walked in. He was wearing an immaculate, tailored black suit, his sharp masculine features radiating a terrifying, absolute authority.
Richard’s confident smile instantly vanished. He aggressively stood up.
“David? What are you doing here?” Richard demanded, his voice thick with arrogant annoyance. “This is a private corporate meeting. You need to leave my building.”
Amber’s face turned the color of wet ash. She shrank back into her leather chair, her hands trembling violently.
David didn't leave. He calmly walked directly to the head of the long mahogany table. He reached into his suit jacket, pulled out three fuzzy plush caterpillars, and tossed them casually onto the polished wood.
