Chapter 2 - The Desperate Warning

The cinematic tension in the grand foyer was absolutely suffocating.
Behind Marco, a dozen towering, heavily armed men in black suits violently drew their weapons. The click of heavy firearms echoed off the polished marble walls. They surrounded Elena completely, creating an inescapable circle of imminent death, waiting for a single command from Marco to fire.
Standing in the background was Victor. He was an imposing man in his forties, and Marco’s highly trusted, ruthlessly efficient Chief of Security.
"Step away from the boss, Elena," Victor commanded coldly, raising his weapon and aiming it directly at the clinic worker’s head.
Elena didn't drop the scissors. She didn't drop to her knees and beg for mercy. The absolute, terrifying restraint she showed was infinitely more powerful than a tantrum.
She gripped the lapel of Marco’s expensive black suit jacket. Her hands were shaking uncontrollably, terrified of the guns pointed at her, but her eyes locked onto Marco's with fierce, desperate determination.
"I'm not trying to hurt you," Elena whispered urgently, her voice completely ignoring the armed men surrounding her. "I'm trying to keep you alive."
Marco’s chest heaved. The agonizing pain in his ribs was getting worse. He stared at the terrified clinic worker, his highly observant, tactical mind desperately trying to process why a single mother was risking execution in his own foyer.
