Chapter 7 - The Debt of Life

Elena was still standing near the staircase, clutching the medical scissors. She was trembling violently, absolutely terrified that she was going to be executed for seeing too much. She thought about her young son waiting for her at home.

Marco completely bypassed the arrogance of his immense wealth and power.

He didn't look at her like a clinic worker. He looked at her with profound, unshakeable respect and deep gratitude.

He gently stepped forward and reached out, carefully taking the medical scissors from her shaking hands. He tossed them onto the marble floor.

"You saved my life, Elena," Marco whispered softly, his dark eyes completely softening. "You risked everything to warn me."

"I just... I didn't want a little boy to lose his father," Elena choked out, tears of pure relief finally falling from her eyes.

Marco’s strong jaw tightened with fierce, protective emotion.

"You don't work for that clinic anymore," Marco stated flawlessly, his voice carrying undeniable, respectful authority. "You are now my personal, private physician. I am multiplying your salary by ten, and your son's entire future is completely paid for. You are permanently under the protection of this family."
