Chapter 4 - The Hidden Evidence

Marco’s blood turned to absolute ice. The cinematic realization crashed over him with the force of a nuclear bomb.

He looked at Elena, and then he looked down at his own tailored black suit jacket. He had felt a strange, burning itch on his chest for the last three days, exactly where the heavy fabric rested against his shirt.

Elena didn't hesitate. She knew she had exactly ten seconds before Victor realized she had figured out his assassination plot.

With a swift, precise motion, Elena slowly slid the sharp blade of the medical scissors right into the inner lining of Marco’s expensive suit jacket.

She violently ripped the silk fabric open.

A small, heavily taped, translucent patch fell out from inside the lining. It was a sophisticated, military-grade transdermal poison patch, designed to slowly release a lethal, untraceable toxin directly into Marco’s bloodstream every time he wore his favorite custom jacket.

An extreme, cinematic close-up captured Marco’s face. The physical pain in his chest was momentarily completely eclipsed by the terrifying, earth-shattering realization that his own inner circle was actively murdering him.

He stared at the poison patch. Only one man in the entire syndicate handled Marco’s personal wardrobe and security sweeps.
