Chapter 1 - The Hospital Contract

The luxurious hospital penthouse suite was suffocatingly quiet. Warm evening lighting cast a cinematic glow across the dark wooden table, illuminating the glittering city skyline visible through the massive glass windows. But the atmosphere inside the room was entirely completely devoid of warmth.

Lucia, a beautiful woman in her twenties, sat trembling at the table. Her brunette hair was pinned in a messy, exhausted updo, and she was wearing a stunning white lace wedding dress that felt more like a prison uniform than a bridal gown.

She held a heavy gold fountain pen directly over a legally binding marriage contract.

Standing right beside her, leaning closely over her shoulder, was Reed. The thirty-something billionaire groom was terrifyingly handsome, wearing a sharp black suit and a black tie. He didn't look like a man in love. He looked like an apex predator closing a massive corporate merger.

"Sign it," Reed commanded smoothly, firmly pointing a manicured finger at the signature line.

A tight close-up captured Lucia’s face. She looked up at the towering billionaire, her eyes filled with tearful, agonizing hesitation. Her delicate hand trembled violently as she gripped the heavy pen.

"You'll pay his medical bills?" Lucia choked out, her voice barely a whisper in the quiet suite.

Reed didn't flinch. A tight close-up focused on his cold, unreadable expression as he maintained intense, unyielding eye contact.

"Every cent," Reed replied coldly.

👉 Lucia looked back at the hospital bed, entirely unaware that the man forcing her hand was about to rewrite her entire destiny.
