Chapter 9 - The Federal Ambush
"I don't want your dirty money," Jason whispered coldly, completely devoid of human mercy as he held the Mayor against the wall. "I want my life back."
Jason reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out his cell phone. He hadn't just been eating dinner; he had been privately working as an investigator for the state authorities. He pressed a single button.
Suddenly, the heavy glass doors of the Cedar Post Steakhouse violently swung open.
A dozen heavily armed state troopers and federal agents marched directly into the restaurant. They completely bypassed the shocked billionaires and walked straight up to the weeping, disgraced Mayor.
"Richard Sterling," the lead federal agent barked loudly, aggressively ripping the politician out of Jason's grip. "You are under arrest for attempted vehicular manslaughter, massive political corruption, and federal extortion."
Sterling screamed and cried in total, undeniable disgrace as the heavy steel handcuffs snapped loudly around his wrists, completely stripping him of his fake wealth, his arrogant pride, and his freedom. He was forcefully dragged backward out of the steakhouse, permanently erased from the city he used to rule.
The corrupt Sheriff who had helped him was already sitting in the back of a squad car outside.
