Chapter 2 - The Boss's Intervention

The cinematic realism of the suffocating tension instantly paralyzed the grand hallway.

Margaret’s arrogant smirk completely vanished, violently replaced by sheer, unadulterated terror. She quickly lowered the gold watch, frantically trying to smooth out her grey dress. No one spoke in the presence of Gabriel Moretti unless explicitly commanded to.

Gabriel didn't look at the supervisor. A tight close-up captured his dark, intense eyes locking directly onto Olivia.

He didn't know her name, but he absolutely despised seeing a mother and child being threatened in his own house on Christmas Eve.

"Her name didn't disappear by itself," Gabriel stated. His voice wasn't loud, but it carried a freezing, lethal frequency that cut through the festive music echoing from the ballroom. He took a deliberate step forward, instinctively placing his massive frame protectively in front of Olivia and her little girl.

Margaret began to hyperventilate. "Mr. Moretti, sir! She... she broke protocol! She brought a child to a professional corporate event! I was simply handling the situation!"

A tight close-up captured Olivia. She shrank back entirely, her maternal instincts completely taking over. She dropped to her knees on the cold marble floor, desperately wrapping her arms around her three-year-old daughter to shield her from the terrifying, towering mafia boss.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Moretti," Olivia choked out, tears streaming down her pale face. "My babysitter canceled. I couldn't lose this shift. I'll leave right now. Please don't hurt us."

A close-up focused entirely on Lily. The three-year-old girl was crying softly, clinging to her mother's white shirt. But she wasn't hiding completely.
