Chapter 8 - The Christmas Miracle

Gabriel didn't send them home in a taxi.

He gently scooped Lily up into his strong arms, completely ignoring the fact that her cheap red dress was wrinkling his expensive charcoal suit. He offered his free hand to Olivia. She didn't hesitate. She placed her trembling hand into his, entirely ready to reclaim her life.

Gabriel walked them straight past the grand ballroom and led them up the sweeping, private marble staircase, completely bypassing the elite party below.

He took them into the massive, heavily secured private wing of the estate.

When they walked into the master suite, Olivia completely froze. The room was breathtakingly warm, featuring a massive, roaring fireplace and a private, beautifully decorated Christmas tree.

Gabriel immediately called his private chef and ordered a massive, hot feast to be delivered directly to the room. He ordered his security team to retrieve all of Olivia and Lily's belongings from their tiny, freezing apartment and move them permanently into the estate.

Lily sat on the plush, incredibly soft rug in front of the fireplace, eating a massive plate of hot food, completely unfazed by the opulent wealth surrounding them.

Gabriel sat on the edge of the massive bed next to Olivia.

He gently reached out, his hand softly cupping her cheek.

"I am so sorry I wasn't there," Gabriel whispered, his deep voice thick with overwhelming emotion. "I will spend the rest of my life proving to you that you never have to be scared or hungry again."
