Chapter 4 - The Demanded Truth

Julian’s jaw locked. The muscles in his neck strained against his crisp white collar.
He slowly stood up to his full, towering height. The ruthless, cinematic intimidation of the mafia boss completely eclipsed the warm, elegant atmosphere of the restaurant.
"I said," Julian repeated, his voice dropping to a terrifying, echoing whisper. "Let her go."
Monica flinched as if she had been physically struck. She instantly released Sarah’s arm, stepping backward in sheer panic.
Sarah stumbled, clutching her tray to her chest. She looked up at Julian, absolutely terrified. She didn't recognize him as the scared teenage boy from the basement. She only saw a heavily tattooed, dangerous syndicate boss who looked like he was about to order an execution.
"Sir, I'm sorry," Sarah cried softly, tears spilling down her pale cheeks. "I didn't mean to upset your daughter. I'll leave right now."
Sarah turned around, intending to sprint toward the kitchen doors and disappear into the night.
"Lock the doors," Julian commanded.
In a fraction of a second, the four massive, suited bodyguards standing in the corners of the restaurant sprang into action. They slammed the heavy mahogany entrance doors shut and bolted them. They blocked the kitchen exits.
Nobody was getting in, and nobody was getting out.
The wealthy guests in the restaurant went dead silent, paralyzed by the sudden escalation.
Monica’s face turned the color of wet chalk. Her massive diamond engagement ring shook violently on her finger. "Julian! What are you doing?! She's just a crazy waitress!"

Julian ignored his fiancée entirely. He slowly walked around the table, his dark eyes fixed exclusively on the terrified, trembling woman in the black and white uniform.
