Chapter 8 - The Stripping of the Fake Queen

"Julian, please!" Monica sobbed hysterically, dropping to her knees in her expensive red designer dress. "I loved you! I just wanted a better life! She was nothing! She didn't deserve you!"

Julian didn't yell. The cold, calculated restraint in his actions was infinitely more terrifying than a shout.

He took two deliberate steps toward the weeping, pathetic woman on the floor.

"You stole her life," Julian stated, his voice echoing off the mahogany walls. "You stole her crown. You tortured the woman who saved my life, and you smiled in my face every single day while doing it."

"I can be a good wife!" Monica shrieked, crawling toward his polished shoes. "I can be a mother to Bella!"

"Do not ever say my daughter's name," Julian growled.

With blinding speed, Julian reached down and grabbed Monica’s left hand. He didn't care about being gentle. With a sharp, violent motion, he ripped the massive, five-carat diamond engagement ring right off her manicured finger.

Monica screamed as the symbol of her stolen wealth and power was completely stripped away.

"You came into my life with nothing but lies," Julian said coldly, looking down at the sniveling imposter. "And you are leaving with exactly that. My accountants have already been auditing your private files, Monica. I know you've been embezzling from the restaurant."

Monica’s face went completely slack. She realized she wasn't just losing the engagement; she was going to federal prison.
