Chapter 4 - THE WILL ON THE HOOD

The original will belonged to Robert’s older sister, Eleanor Bennett.

Eleanor had no children.

She owned the suburban house before transferring it to Robert decades earlier.

The will stated the property would pass equally to Paige and Eric after Robert and Margaret died.

But there was a condition.

Any child who used fraud, coercion, or financial exploitation against the parents forfeited their share.

The version Margaret showed the family removed that clause.

It gave Eric the house outright.

Paige received “personal effects as chosen by Margaret.”

The forged version carried Calvin Price’s signature.

Paige found the original inside Eleanor’s old bank file.

That was why Eric stopped smiling when the papers hit his SUV.

He knew the will existed.

He had helped replace it.

Chloe knew too.

She was not merely Eric’s girlfriend.

She had worked at Price’s former office.

She accessed old templates, seals, and archived signatures.
