The tow driver’s name was Samuel Ortiz.
He had received clear instructions from the lender.
Repossession authorized.
Paige was the guarantor.
Eric had missed eight payments.
Samuel moved professionally.
No argument.

Eric stood in front of the SUV.
“You touch it, I’ll sue.”
Samuel looked at the paperwork.
“Move, sir.”

Paige stepped closer.
“Don’t.”
He turned toward her.
“You did this.”
“No. You stopped paying for something I signed for.”
“That’s the same thing.”
It was not.
That confusion defined Eric.
He believed access created ownership.
Paige’s money became family money.
Her signature became permission.

Samuel raised the vehicle.
Chloe set down the teacup.
