Chapter 7 - The Arrest
"Chloe Montgomery," the officer barked, violently grabbing her wrists and spinning her around. "You are under arrest for aggravated assault of a minor and felony child endangerment."
The heavy steel handcuffs snapped loudly around Chloe's wrists, snagging the delicate fabric of her expensive yellow dress.
"No! Mom, do something!" Chloe shrieked hysterically, completely abandoning her arrogant facade as she scrambled backward. "I'm supposed to be the CEO today! You can't let them take me!"
"Don't touch her!" Brenda wailed, clawing at the officer's uniform. "Do you know who we are?! We are billionaires! I will have your badge for this!"
"Keep it up, lady, and you'll be joining her for obstruction," the second officer warned, aggressively pushing Brenda back.
The grandfather was hyperventilating, his formal suit suddenly feeling like a suffocating straightjacket. He watched in absolute horror as the police dragged his screaming, weeping golden grandchild out of the mansion and shoved her into the back of a squad car.
Toby was safely loaded into the ambulance, given heavy painkillers that finally let him rest.
A sleek, black luxury town car suddenly pulled into the massive driveway, parking right behind the police cruisers.
Stepping out of the car was Mr. Sterling, the family's ruthless, sixty-year-old corporate attorney. He was carrying a heavy leather briefcase, arriving for the scheduled meeting to transfer the family trust.
The grandfather sprinted down the porch steps, desperate to salvage his crumbling empire.

"Sterling! Thank God you're here!" the grandfather panicked, pointing wildly at Valerie. "Get Chloe out on bail immediately! And draft the paperwork to completely disinherit Valerie! I want her entirely cut off and thrown out of this house today!"
