A tight close-up on Adrien Moretti’s face captured a microscopic, seismic shift.

The strict, intimidating corner of Adrien’s mouth slowly lifted into a genuine, breathtaking smile.

"YOU’D BETTER RUN," Adrien murmured, his deep, low voice vibrating with a playful rumble that sounded more like a protective father than a crime lord.

The little girl let out another delighted giggle, turned on her heel, and took off running down the grand hallway, her mismatched sock bunching around her ankle.

Adrien didn't move to chase her, but his eyes followed her every step until she vanished around the corner toward the nursery wing.
