Chapter 8 - Syndicate Justice

"You protected your own pocket," Adrien snarled, his massive, broad shoulders tensing as he unleashed a fraction of his terrifying physical power.

Adrien didn't wait for Marcus to draw his weapon. With blinding, explosive speed, the mafia boss lunged forward, grabbing Marcus by the lapels of his grey suit and slamming him violently against the reinforced glass window.

The glass cracked in a spiderweb pattern, rattling the entire office.

"Guard!" Adrien roared.

Within a millisecond, the heavy oak doors burst open, and four towering syndicate enforcers rushed into the room, their weapons instantly drawn and trained on Marcus.

"Take this traitor down to the subterranean holding cells," Adrien commanded, his voice echoing with absolute, unquestionable authority. "Strip him of his rank, freeze his accounts, and make sure he spends every remaining day of his pathetic life wishing he had never drawn a breath."

"No! Please, Adrien! Have mercy!" Marcus shrieked, thrashing wildly as the massive enforcers grabbed him by the arms, dragging him backward out of the executive office. His pathetic cries faded down the marble hallway until the heavy doors slammed shut, swallowing him into the darkness forever.

The immediate threat was neutralized. The parasite was ripped out by the roots.
