Chapter 1 - The Tiny Mimic

The magnificent marble corridor of the luxurious Chicago mansion was bathed in warm, golden afternoon sunlight.
Dante Falcone, the city’s most feared and powerful Mafia boss, walked slowly down the hall. He was thirty-nine, exceptionally handsome, heavily muscular, and intensely masculine. Intricate black-and-gray tattoos covered his neck, hands, and the forearms exposed by his rolled-up black dress shirt. He walked with his hands clasped behind his back, his posture rigid, his piercing steel-gray eyes cold and empty. He hadn't smiled in eighteen months—not since his beloved wife, Carmela, was brutally murdered in a car bombing.
But behind him, a completely different scene was unfolding.
Three-year-old Sophia, the extraordinarily adorable daughter of the mansion’s housekeeper, was quietly following the dangerous billionaire. Wearing a pale-pink floral dress and tiny pink shoes, the fearless toddler was perfectly imitating Dante. She clasped her tiny hands behind her back, puffed out her chest, and scrunched her rosy cheeks into a ridiculously serious, intimidating glare.
Two massive, heavily tattooed Mafia bodyguards walking behind them watched in absolute disbelief. They bit the insides of their cheeks, desperately trying to suppress their laughter out of sheer terror of their boss.
Suddenly, Dante stopped walking. Sophia immediately stopped too, freezing in her rigid posture.
Dante slowly turned around.
Rosa, the thirty-year-old housekeeper wearing a pale-blue uniform, rushed into the corridor. She froze in sheer, unadulterated horror seeing her daughter mocking the most lethal man in Chicago.

"Sophia!" Rosa gasped, terrified. "Stop that right now!"
👉 Dante raised a heavily tattooed hand, silencing the maid, entirely unaware of the devastating secret the toddler was about to drop.
