Chapter 6 - The Underboss's Panic

While Dante was uncovering the horrific truth, Marco was sitting in the mansion’s primary security control room.

The arrogant, sharply dressed Underboss had noticed the sudden, aggressive lockdown of the estate. He quickly pulled up the internal security feeds on the glowing monitors.

When Marco saw the camera feed showing Dante unlocking the forbidden sitting room door—and Rosa following him inside—all the color violently drained from his face.

His perfect, invisible treason was completely exposed.

"No," Marco panicked, his heart hammering wildly against his ribs. He pulled a silenced pistol from his shoulder holster.

He knew he couldn't take Dante in a fair fight. Dante was a lethal, apex predator. But Marco saw on the cameras that Dante was entirely focused on untying Carmela from the medical bed.

Marco’s dark, treacherous eyes locked onto Rosa and the three-year-old girl standing near the exit of the secret suite. If Marco could eliminate the maid and the child, he could create a bloody distraction, blame the infiltration on Rosa, and execute Dante in the chaos.

Marco sprinted out of the security room, moving silently through the mansion's hidden service corridors. He slipped through the back entrance of the sitting room just as Rosa stepped backward to give Dante and Carmela privacy.
