Chapter 5 - The Silent Ambush

Roman didn't pull a gun. He didn't flip the table. The cinematic realism of his total, icy restraint was infinitely more terrifying than a violent outburst.
He kept his left hand resting on the table, while his right hand smoothly pulled his encrypted smartphone from his pocket beneath the tablecloth. Without looking down, he tapped a single, highly classified panic button.
"You were saying the owners agreed," Celeste stammered slightly, her flawless smile beginning to crack under Roman’s piercing, unnatural silence.
The entire luxury restaurant seemed to hold its breath.
Outside the massive floor-to-ceiling windows, completely unnoticed by the three assassins in gray suits, three heavy black armored SUVs violently swerved onto the sidewalk, silently blocking all the main exits.
Inside the restaurant, the grand piano music continued to play softly. But the wealthy guests began to notice something absolutely terrifying.
Six massive, heavily armed syndicate enforcers stepped out from the kitchen doors, the coatroom, and the private dining areas. They didn't draw their weapons, but they moved with blinding, lethal precision, completely surrounding the booth where the three gray-suited assassins were sitting.
