Chapter 7 - The Brother's Betrayal

Celeste burst into hysterical tears, the heavy diamond earrings shaking against her neck.
"I'll tell you!" Celeste shrieked softly, completely selling out her employer to save her own pathetic life. "He paid me three million to bring you here! It was Marco! Your brother!"
Roman’s strong jaw clenched so hard it looked like it would shatter.
The realization that his own flesh and blood had orchestrated this brutal assassination attempt hit him harder than a bullet. Marco had always been jealous of the empire, but Roman never believed his own brother would resort to hiring cartel hitmen to slaughter him in a public restaurant.
Roman didn't scream. He slowly stood up from the table, adjusting the cuffs of his tailored black suit.
"Take them to the warehouse," Roman commanded his lead enforcer, completely ignoring Celeste's desperate, pathetic weeping. "And bring Marco to me. Alive."
The massive enforcers violently hauled the three assassins and the sobbing, panicking Celeste out the secure back entrance. Her reign of toxic ambition and greed was over forever. She was going to face the absolute, brutal justice of the criminal underworld.
The restaurant fell into a profound, heavy silence.
