Chapter 7 - The Master's Wrath

"Please, Mr. Damian!" Alina shrieked wildly, tears of pure, unadulterated terror ruining her face. "Julian promised me a new life! He said I would be rich! I didn't want to hurt the little girl! I just wanted the money!"

"You fed my wife poison," Damian whispered coldly, stepping so close to the kneeling maid that she violently flinched. "You smiled at my daughter while you actively tried to leave her without a mother."

Alina sobbed pathetically, realizing she had crossed a line that no amount of begging could ever erase.

"Pick up the phone, Alina," Damian commanded, dropping the burner device directly onto her lap.

Alina looked up at him, her eyes wide with sheer, breathless confusion.

"You are going to text Julian right now," Damian stated clinically, his voice echoing with lethal, corporate authority. "You are going to tell him that Elena’s heart just stopped. Tell him the job is done, and that I am completely broken. Tell him to come to the mansion immediately to offer his condolences."

"If I lie to him, he'll kill me!" Alina panicked, her hands shaking violently.
