Chapter 1 - The Penthouse Betrayal

The luxury penthouse was suffocatingly quiet. Beyond the massive floor-to-ceiling windows, the glittering city skyline stretched out into the cold, unforgiving night. Inside, the atmosphere was thick with absolute, devastating heartbreak.

Tess, a beautiful woman in her mid-twenties, stood trembling in the center of the room. Her blonde hair was styled in an elegant updo, and she wore a breathtaking, custom-made champagne silk gown. But she didn't look like a glowing bride. Tears streamed violently down her pale cheeks.

She clung desperately to the hand of the man standing beside her, using him as a physical shield against the monster across the room.

That monster was Arthur, her own father.

Arthur was in his sixties, with sharp gray hair and a perfectly tailored dark suit. He stood near the heavy mahogany doors, his face completely devoid of human empathy. He looked at his weeping daughter as if she were nothing more than a signed business contract.

"You sold me," Tess choked out, her voice cracking with sheer, unadulterated agony as she gripped her new husband’s hand tighter.

Arthur adjusted his expensive cufflinks, watching her coldly from the background. He didn't even have the decency to look ashamed.

"It's temporary, Tess," Arthur replied, his voice dripping with toxic, arrogant dismissiveness. "It's just a business arrangement."

A tight close-up captured Tess’s face. Her profound heartbreak instantly shifted into absolute disgust.

"Mom would hate you," Tess whispered tearfully, her words slicing through the heavy silence of the penthouse.

Before Arthur could deliver another cruel insult, the man standing beside Tess finally spoke. Roman was in his late thirties, devastatingly handsome, wearing a flawless black suit. His dark eyes locked onto the older man with lethal, terrifying precision.
